Truckee Meadows Community College is a wonderful school with many opportunities for all students. The range of classes is impressive for a two-year college, with not only different types of classes but different options for professors as well. The professors at the school are continuously trying to ensure the success of their students, with the goal of understanding in mind. Whether it is working together to develop a time to go over content, asking questions consistently, or reaching out to guarantee all students can be triumphant in class. The school harbors a sense of community between staff and students as well, with continued conversations after class and walking alongside professors to continue classroom topics when possible. There are so many clubs with many interests, whether artistic, recreational, or developmental. During elections, many people attempt to get people to vote or understand better what is going on in government. And outside of those times, there are religious or other groups also attempting to reach out and teach students. My major issue with the school has been the difficulty of contacting and working with their counselors. Appointments are hard to come by and when they are available, they are at awkward times and maybe only one or two appointments at a time. Throughout my time at Truckee Meadows Community College, I have struggled setting up these appointments, but the appointments themselves are helpful and so are the counselors. Overall, this is a fantastic school with a multitude of opportunities for students to learn both from each other and the professors.

It is a great college and despite what people think about community college, this is an amazing college that really help with academics. The professors are always helpful and nice and I've had a very good time visiting this college so far!

It was very difficult to get enrolled but it's awesome once I am finally in. Due to Covid-19, there is not many activities but TMCC tried their best to get everyone involved. I am always updated about events on campus and truly enjoy my experience at this college.

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) is a small community college terrific for students to attend. The class sizes are usually small up to 30 students. Amazing staff and helpful facilities on-campus. Various locations around Reno; so when students attend this school a good tip is looking at the location of the class.

Truckee meadows Community College is a wonderful school. From my first day on campus to now, i have felt so comfortable talking to all professors and advisors. The 2 advisors i have had helped me tremendously to pave my path through my first two years on campus. I actually wish TMCC offered a bachelors in business so i could stay here longer because i feel so comfortable.

Love it!

I love the school. We just implemented a soccer team in 2019 which im on, we got a new fitness center with a basketball court and a big gym and yoga rooms, this school has great professors who are here to help you. TMCC helps students be successful and everyone is friendly and always there to help if you need it. This college is going to do some big things in the future with athletics and adding more stuff to be apart of. One thing I wish this school had was dorms but like I said they will add this in the future when they add more athletics. This school is great and im so happy to be apart of such a helpful, and friendly community.

It is a beautiful campus full of beautiful people. Everyone at TMCC is so warm and welcoming; it is like a small family. The teachers are great, the campus has great resources with staff that are dedicated to your success. Everyone on campus works so hard, it is a really great environment that promotes learning and development.

It is a great school to complete you associates and general education. Right now I am completing my Associates in Science. All the teachers I have had are accommodating and getting help is very easy. Student should apply early because classes fill up very fast, and so does the parking lot. Try to pick morning classes so you can get a spot. The janitors at TMCC do a very good job at keeping all facilities clean and the whole campus is wheelchair accessible.

Truckee Meadows is a great school for those looking to get their education on their terms. Here at Truckee Meadows, all ages are welcome. Even high school students. I am currently a senior in high school and I have been attending real college classes since my junior year. In my classes, there are people of all ages and it is totally normal and accepted. Although it is not small enough for everyone to know each other, in many of my classes I've met everyone and built relationships within the classes. Most of the professors are very welcoming and helpful. They offer office hours and are willing to come to class early before/after to help students quickly. TMCC offers so many tutoring options, both on-campus and online. TMCC is like a mini university. It is perfect for those looking to get their degree and focus solely on that. Surprisingly, TMCC offers many degree options, most being associates. The credits are not too expensive, making the students a more diverse bunch. As a student, you don't have to worry about where you'll go to eat because there is a cafeteria with so many options. The campus is easy to navigate, and there are so many spaces to work in between classes. The library offers so many helpful resources- computers, printers, books regarding certain classes and knowledgable staff. Overall, TMCC is a great school to get your degree. You'll feel apart of a community and you'll feel like you are quickly achieving your degree. Just make sure to get to the campus a little early! Parking spaces can be hard to find due to the new addition of a soccer field and a soccer team!

It’s a great community college w/knowledgeable professors and a nice campus. The buildings feel new and are well taken care of. There is a cafeteria and it seems to have plenty of choices. The library offers free tutoring services as well as plenty of computers.

I think that Truckee Meadows Community College is an okay place to go. The classes offered there come in a variety. I don't see a lot of variety of classes offered during the summer, mostly just core subjects like Math and English. Yes there are some drugs and some vaping goes on around campus, but it's not super huge. I can't say I'm the best person to fully judge the TMCC campus as I have not done a lot of time there, but I can say that it's a fine school.

Truckee Meadows is awesome!! I love the relationships, friend and academic, that I have made with Professors, Faculty, and Staff. The college fosters an effective learning environment, and it's so beautiful. I love spending my extra time on campus.

It is a great college and also very affordable, I can take the same classes I would take at UNR for example but at a much lower cost. The diversity is phenomenal even though we are a community college we have international students which makes it an awesome college experience. Most of the staff here is very helpful and nice and the professors are easy to talk to outside of class. There’s also lots of resources that help us to do better in class. Such as, tutoring, labs to work outside of the regular lab classes and libraries and rooms to study as well as a gym. Just this year TMCC added a soccer field for us to have the first soccer team for both women and men which is exciting.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Truckee Meadows Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I could go back and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would say do not wait 15 years to go to college! You can do it and their are people their who want to help you suceed. You can follow your dreams and surpass them, no one is stopping you except for yourself. You will have the help you need just put your faith in the system and ask for help when you need it. You are smarter than you think you are and you will enjoy learning more than you ever could have imagined. Its not high school, high school is childish and pety in college you can become what you want to be no worrying about the "cool kids" its all about you!
Truckee Meadows for me is a booster school its helping me getting down all my core classes and is helping prepare me for bigger things. The best thing is I?m getting my associates degree for a lot less money and its helping me transfer to the University of Nevada Reno. Without this community college I probably wouldn?t have been able to afford college all together. It?s help minimize the loans I?ve needed to take out and given me a broader education.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
What I don't like about TMCC is the way some of the receptionist's help or try and answer your questions. They would, sometimes, not let you finish asking your question before they answer. There are times when you ask for something specific then they answer it differently, then they don't always do everything in thier power to try and help you figure things out. these are the things I dont like about TMCC.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I did quite a bit of research about this particular school as well as the program I was hoping to persue before I enrolled. I adapted quickly to the Community College setting (I had attended a major University for two years) so that was not something I felt unprepared for. I guess the only thing I really wish I could have known before enrolling is whether or not I am going to be accepted to the Radiology program this fall, I am very anxious to find out.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
I'm not sure who shouldn't attend the college. The reason's being its fairly reasonable moneywise, the classes are medium sized. You could blend in and be invisible but you would'nt be lost or forgotten by the teacher. Most of the proffesors are also very willing to help you in passing thier classes. There is a disabilities resource center to help with extra testing time and, a quiter testing room. There is also a free tutoring center for computers to spanish, and to study aswell.
My classmates are very organized and keep up with their work. They take school very seriously and participate in every activity. Everyclass mate that I have has a unique personality. Some are sweet and outgoing and others are shy and quite but, when it comes to school they all do what it takes to recieve the best grade they can get. I guess you can say they are inspirational its awesome feeling to see them work so hard to earn a degree and I feel really proud to say that i am proud to be part of an amazing school.
TMCC is a great school, same classes as a 4 yr. college although the cost is less, classes are smaller. It's a great first time school for someone who wants the college experience, but is intimidated by the thought of attending a larger college.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I brag about how small the classes are. I also brag that I am able to get more personal attention from the teachers since the classes only have a small number of people unlike some of the university classes that have up to 300 students in them.
The school is very small and not too crowded so it isn't a huge distraction to work. Also I love the diversity of people that is enrolled in the school. It leaves so many open doors to make new friends. Overall I am very satisfied with the school.
