I often struggle with being comfortable in new environments and have a hard time adjusting. Ever since I was young I’ve had a hard time adjusting; whether it be a new school, a new city, or even a new grocery store. I always tend to feel out of place or like I’m always in someone's way. When I first toured the K-State campus the very first thing I picked up on was the friendliness and tranquility in the atmosphere. I immediately felt at home and could easily see myself living in Manhattan. No other campus I toured had this calm, relaxed atmosphere. I enjoyed how helpful everyone was, at one point my parents and I got a little lost during a break, so we had to ask nearby students how to get to the Hale Library. They were extremely helpful and met us with nothing but kindness by guiding us exactly where we needed to be. The K-State community is extremely different because of how open and welcoming everyone and everything is. Many other communities fail to do this because of how intense they seem to feel, by being in your face with their mascots, or by giving out way too many school spirit goodies. K-State specializes in forming lifelong relationships through special internships, and collaborative exposures in research. This allows students to always have endless learning opportunities through the relationships they build. Students within the K-State community are set for the rest of their lives after they graduate because of these connections.

I love Kansas State University. As soon as you get here everyone will make you feel at home. Campus is full of friendly people who will make conversation with you or give you a compliment or smile at you when you walk by. Campus is beautiful, and there are usually people laying in the grass under trees doing their homework on nice days. The professors are all engaged and easy to meet with, and every professor I've had has been amazing. They all care about their job and their students and are always happy to help. Kansas State University really feels like my home and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Kansas State University is a place filled with joy and diversity. I enjoy viewing the campus, it contains a great atmosphere and has a lot of opportunities for students. It is a place filled with majors of all kinds and many of the individuals there are willing to help in anything a person may need.

Kara - 10/18/2023

I am just a visitor but I loved it. There was so much on-campus activities going on and there were always people hanging out. I loved how much community involvement there was. I also loved seeing all the different ways to study in the library because they had white boards and little study booths and private study rooms. It is a great campus and the college that I intend to go to because it was amazing.

My education has awakened my enthusiasm for design. I strongly believe that good design can change the quality of life and am passionate about making a positive impact in cities, buildings, and for the individuals that experience them. 4. What is your overall opinion of this school?

Kansas State University is a great school. The best thing it has to offer is its education. The professors care about their students and the courses offer a satisfying challenge that develop a good work ethic. The size of the school is ideal: not too big to the point where one would feel like just another number, but not too small where everyone knows everyone. The school is in a wonderful college town with lots of places to eat, movie theater, bowling alley, mall, and more. The sports teams at KSU are excellent and there is a lot of school pride. A lot of students spend most of their time at the gigantic Hale Library, perfect for studying and relaxing, or the Student Union, which includes restaurants like Panda Express and Taco Bell, a bowling alley, and even ATMs through a variety of banks (a feature that isn't always considered when choosing a college, but turns out to be extremely convenient). All in all, KSU is an exceptional place.

  5. What are the academics like at your school?

The likeability of classes vary from professors, to class size and subject. My least favorite classes are the general education courses. Of course, no one really enjoys general ed courses. My favorite class so far was the Introduction to Communications class. The professor was fun and so was the class. Unless you're taking a huge lecture class, professors will know your name. The library is one of the best resources K-State has to offer, so it's always filled with students,

  8. What's unique about your campus?

I would have to believe the best thing about KSU is the environment of studying with students from all parts of the world. Learning about another's culture or concepts of life opens many opportunities. As we all come together we open new windows of understanding from a broad spectrum of events. One person may experience or have a past experience that can be considered for informational venue to others. The meshing of extreme minds into one thought process.

  9. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

First off I make sure that they know we have the best mascot in the U.S. After I have finished making that point, I don't hesitate to tell them that those on the K-state campus are like a second family to me. I came home for the summer break, and after being here only a week I was ready to go back. I missed the friendly and helpful atmosphere a lot more then I thought I would.

  20. Why did you decide to go to this school?

Deciding to go to K-State was easy. I wanted to be in an environment where I could focus on my studies, make new friends, and enjoy life outside of school. K-State provides all three of these things. There is always places to go to study, and people to interact with if you need help in classes. Student organizations and student life provide an excellent source of student interaction, and are where I have met most of my close friends. Outside of school, plenty of things are available to bide your time and you can find something to do almost all of the time. Salina is a smaller town with not all of the amenities Manhattan has to offer, but it's so cozy and personal, you can create your own fun!

  21. Tell us about the sports scene on campus.

Students on our campus take big time pride in all of our sports here at K-State. We love football and basketball. The only sports we get charged to get in to watch are football and basketball but both are worth the money. Our student sections are right on the 50 yardline for football and right at half court for basketball. We're the only school in the big 12 that does that because we value our students here at K-State. When students are paying that much for tuition we might as well get good seats to the game, right? Other sports are equally as exciting but entry is free with a student I.D.
