Number of Awards & Eligibility: Five awards offered annually - one provided for each geographical region of the American Legion Auxiliary.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a non-traditional student who is returning to college after an extended absence or one who is beginning higher education for the first time at a non-traditional age.
  2. Must be a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  4. Must be enrolled or planning to enroll as an undergraduate student.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.

Additional Information: The American Legion Auxiliary provides scholarships each year to members who are returning to college after a period of absense from education, as well as those students who are attending college for the first time at a non-traditional age. Selection will be based on participation in the American Legion Auxiliary, financial need, and academic potential.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
