Brookhaven Women in Science of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL)

Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a "re-entry" woman. (One who has returned to school to pursue her education following an interruption.)
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a resident of Long Island in New York State.
  4. Must be accepted for credit into a degree-oriented program in the natrual sciences (e.g., chemistry, physics, biology), engineering, or mathematics, at an accredited educational institution.
  5. Must be entering college as a junior or senior, or first-year graduate level.
  6. This award is for U.S. students.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for U.S. re-entry female students - one who has returned to school to pursue her education following an interruption. Applicants must be residents of Long Island in New York State, accepted for credit into a degree-oriented program in the natural sciences, engineering, or mathematics, and entering the junior or senior undergraduate year or first-year graduate level.

Additional Information: Sponsored by Brookhaven Women in Science of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), the Renate W. Chasman scholarship encourages women to pursue a career in the natural sciences, engineering, or mathematics. The award honors the late Renate Chasman, a noted woman physicist at BNL. The scholarship will be awarded prior to the following fall term, after proof of fall enrollment is provided.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
