Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be officially recognized as an undergraduate health education major.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  4. Must be enrolled full time.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  6. Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at a four-year college/university.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Sophomores, juniors and/or seniors currently enrolled full time in a health education progam at a four-year university are eligible for this award. Students must have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher.

Application requirements for the Bill Kane Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Essay
  • Recommendation letters (3)
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: Scholarship recipients will be notified by Jan. 15. The applicant must show evidence of leadership potential and be academically talented. He/she should also be active in health education profession related activities, organizations, at the university/college, and/or the community. Prior SHAPE America Undergraduate Award recipients may not apply.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. The award may be spent by the recipient in any manner.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
