Number of Awards & Eligibility: 10 awards offered annually. One of the scholarships will be awarded to a qualified applicant graduating from Mammoth-San Manuel Unified School District (provided at least one such qualified applicant applies).
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must plan to attend or be attending a postsecondary educational institution in Arizona. A "postsecondary educational institution" includes public or private universities, colleges, junior colleges, community colleges, vocational/trade/technical schools, and post-graduate studies.
  4. Must be entering, continuing, or returning to postsecondary education. This includes all of the following applicants: graduating high school in spring; a high school graduate prior to spring; a current postsecondary educational institution student; or a postsecondary educational institution graduate.
  5. Must be a member of Vantage West Credit Union in good standing, or have a parent/legal guardian who is a member in good standing.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. high school seniors, undergraduate students, and graduate students who are attending or plan to attend a postsecondary institution in Arizona. The student or his/her parent/legal guardian must be a member of Vantage West Credit Union.

Application requirements for the Vantage West Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Essay
  • Recommendation letters (2 - opt.)
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: All eligible students are encouraged to apply. Though academic merit is a key consideration, the selection process also weighs factors such as (but not limited to): quality and content of the main/required essay; overall character (as demonstrated by accomplishments, activities, volunteerism, etc.); and the additional information the applicant will have an opportunity to provide. Recipients will be selected by a panel of volunteer judges. Scholarship recipients will be notified by telephone and/or mail in May. Vantage West employees, volunteers, and previous Vantage West Scholarship recipients are not eligible.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. The scholarship is to be used toward tuition costs for the upcoming fall semester. The award will be distributed in the form of a check payable directly to the institution of higher education which the student will be attending.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
