Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must attend one of the following local area colleges: Aquinas, Calvin, GVSU, GRCC or Kendall.
  2. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must be a resident of Kent County, Michigan.
  6. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  7. Must be majoring in applied or fine arts.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. undergraduate students who are residents of Kent County, Michigan. Applicants must be studying applied or fine art at one of the following local colleges: Aquinas, Calvin, Grand Valley State University, Grand Rapids Community College, or Kendall. Selection is based on academic performance and demonstrated financial need.

Additional Information: The Grand Rapids Community Foundation awards hundreds of scholarships annually, primarily to Kent County students bound for or in college, or those pursuing a technical career. This scholarship, provided each year in honor of Paul Collins, is awarded to a resident of Kent County, Michigan who is studying fine or applied arts at one of the following local area colleges: Aquinas, Calvin, GVSU, GRCC or Kendall. Selection is based on artistic talent, academic performance, and financial need.

Award Amount: Awards range from $500 to $5,000 depending on the student's unmet need and the availability of funds. Average awards are about $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
