Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior or older for this undergraduate and graduate award.
  4. Must attend a college or university in West Virginia.
  5. Must be a graduating senior of Clay High School, West Virginia.
  6. Must study in the fields of engineering, the sciences, or mathematics.
  7. Must be a resident of West Virginia.
  8. Must have an ACT score of 20 or higher.
  9. Must be a full-time student (12 credit hours or more).
  10. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for a U.S. high school senior or older at Clay High School in West Virginia. The applicant must pursue a degree in the field of engineering, sciences, or mathematics at a university in West Virginia. The applicant must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and an ACT score of 20.

Application requirements for the Kenneth & Mildred Ward Scholarship Fund are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Tax return
Additional Information: Students may only receive one scholarship per year from TGKVF. The applicant will be notified by TGKVF by May 15. The foundation will mail the full amount of the award in August. It is applied to the entire academic year. The check is payable jointly to the recipient and the college, but is mailed directly to the recipient. Any student who withdraws from school for any reason will be expected to notify the foundation of his/her status and refund any unused, refundable portion of the scholarship. In addition to other requirements, the applicant must also demonstrate good moral character and financial need.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, renewable for up to four years if the student continues to meet eligibility requirements. The student must reapply to be considered for renewability.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
