Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must attend Poughkeepsie High School.
  4. Must plan to major in science.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

Description: This award is available for current high school seniors who are graduating from Poughkeepsie high school. Applicants must demonstrate academic merit and plan to pursue an education in physical science.

Application requirements for the John F. DeGilio Science Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Student Aid Report
  • Recommendation letter
  • Essay
Additional Information: This scholarship has been established to recognize John F. DeGilio's 70th birthday and 50 years of teaching by assisting in the financial needs of a college-bound local student who is interested in science.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.
