Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher. Applicants with lower grade point averages may be considered if they have otherwise outstanding qualifications or extenuating circumstances.
  3. Must pursue a career in floral design and marketing of fresh flowers and plants.
  4. Must be a current college sophomore, junior, or senior.
  5. Must be a citizen or resident of the U.S. or Canada OR be enrolled in an accredited educational institution in the U.S. or Canada.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. and Canadian college sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are pursuing a career in floral design and marketing of fresh flowers and plants. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

Application requirements for the James Bridenbaugh Memorial Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Jim Bridenbaugh was a specialist in fresh flowers and plants, designing and commentating at design shows and seminars. His floral industry knowledge, comedic storytelling and audience rapport made him a favorite. Jim served as OFA president from 1989 to 1991. Each student who has won a scholarship will be sent a notification letter by U.S. mail. Scholarship decisions will be made by August of each year.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable. All scholarships are provided as cash awards with checks issued jointly in the name of the recipient and the college or institution he/she will be attending in the fall.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.
