Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of scholarships provided annually depends on the number of qualified applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior or first time undergraduate student.
  4. Must demonstrate a history of dedicated civic, community or humanitarian service.
  5. Must be majoring in chiropractic studies.
  6. Must attend the Southern California University Health Sciences.
  7. Must have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The Dr. Lester McCoy Memorial Scholarship is available for first-time students at the Southern California University of Health Sciences who have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher. Applicants must have a demonstrated history of dedicated civic, community or humanitarian service and write an essay on the experience of humanitarianism.

Additional Information: SCU recognizes students for the exemplary accomplishments in their undergraduate studies prior to their enrollment. Therefore, scholarships are offered to students who demonstrate high academic standards and/or financial need. Applicants for the Dr. Lester McCoy Memorial Scholarship must have a demonstrated history of dedicated civic, community or humanitarian service and write an essay on the experience of humanitarianism.

Award Amount: Approximately $250 to $500 annually, renewable for up to three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.
