Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually, one per named award.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be 16 years of age or older at time of application.
  4. Must be a full-time resident of New England.
  5. Must pursue training at an FAA FAR Part 147-compliant school in New England.
  6. Must intend to pursue a professional aviation maintenance career.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. students who are 16 years of age or older and plan to pursue a professional aviation maintenance career. Students must be residents of New England and attend an FAA FAR Part 147-compliant school in New England.

Application requirements for the ACONE Scholarship Program for Aeronautics and Aircraft Maintenance are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Proof of citizenship
  • Financial statement
  • Personal statement
  • Recommendation letters (2)
Additional Information: There are two named awards included in this scholarship program: the ACONE Honored Member Scholarship in Honor of Norman Fredkin; and the John T. Griffin Memorial Scholarship. Criteria for judging applications include: financial need; ability to meet the planned aviation goals as shown by recommendations and academic records; and aviation maintenance and related activities as shown by the personal letter and letters of recommendation.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable. Recipients must use scholarship funds within one year of award.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.
