  1. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must plan to pursue a career in broadcasting.
  4. Must enroll full time.

Description: This award is available for undergraduate students who plan to pursue a career in broadcasting. Preference will be given to students who are enrolled at, or have graduated from, two-year colleges that have a departmental membership with the Broadcast Education Association.

Application requirements for the BEA Founders Award are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Recommendation letter
  • Personal statement
Additional Information: This scholarship is provided annually by the Broadcast Education Association to recognize and assist outstanding undergraduate students who plan to pursue a career in broadcasting. The applicant should be able to show substantial evidence of superior academic performance and the potential to be an outstanding electronic media professional. There should be compelling evidence that the applicant possesses high integrity and a well-articulated sense of personal & professional responsibility. Preference will be given to students attending two-year colleges that have at least one departmental membership with the Broadcast Education Association, as well as students at four-year BEA-affiliated colleges who graduated and transfered from a two-year BEA-affiliated school.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.
