In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This video contest is open to students ages 16 and older who are residents of the United States, the District of Columbia, or U.S. territories and possessions. Students must submit an original video on a topic relating to the importance of the patent system. Click here to learn more and apply today!

  • Copyright and talent release forms
Additional Information: Qualified individuals will select finalists whose submissions will then be posted on the contest website, the contest YouTube profile, and the Intellectual Property Owners (IPO) Education Foundation's Facebook fan page. Voting will be open to the public within the first week of August and will remain open for two weeks to determine one winner in each of the age groups. There will be a limit of one vote per person or email address. In the event of a tie in the online voting, the tied videos will be judged by qualified individuals.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, non-renewable. In addition to the cash prizes and scholarships, IPO Education Foundation reserves the right at its sole discretion to award each of the winners with a trip for two to the Foundation Awards Dinner. The trip consists of round-trip coach airfare from the major airport nearest each winner's residence, two-night hotel accommodations (double room), ground transportation, meals and other expenses.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.
