This award is available for permanent residents of Maryland with an interest in a teaching career. Candidates must have an undergraduate degree in the liberal arts, sciences or mathematics and be pursuing a master’s degree in education.
This scholarship is open to U.S. and international high school seniors who reside in Nassau or Suffolk counties in New York and aspire to be teachers. Students must reside or have resided with a parent or guardian who is a survivor or victim of cancer (other than breast cancer).
Those aspiring to become teachers will be given extra consideration for this scholarship but pursuing an education to become an educator IS NOT required to apply.
This scholarship is available for U.S. college juniors and seniors who are Jewish and demonstrate career promise in a helping profession. Students must also meet one or both of the following criteria: he/she was born or raised in either Cook County, the Chicago metropolitan area, or northwest Indiana OR he/she has completed one continuous year of full-time employment in Cook County or the Chicago metropolitan area prior to starting professional education.
The Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational and professional organization. At present, it has more than 1,500 members across the United States and Asia. Since its founding, AAJA has been at the forefront of change in the journalism industry. The Al Young Sports Journalism Scholarship honors its namesake. Al Young is an award-winning journalist who blazed many trails for Asian American sports journalists. He is the nation’s first Asian American sportswriter at a metro daily. He is also the first Asian American to cover the NFL as the New Haven Register beat writer for the New York Giants and Jets.
The AAJA Sports Task Force is pleased to offer a scholarship of up to $2,000 to current college students interested in pursuing sports journalism/media as a career through the Al Young Sports Journalism scholarship.
Undergraduate students attending Prescott College in Arizona planning to pursue a course of study in writing, literature or journalism are eligible for this award. Preference will be given to a student whose legal place of residence is southeast Texas (Jefferson, Orange, Tyler, Newton, and Hardin counties) and/or a student who is a member of an ethnic minority group.
IFEC Scholarship Application deadline is March 15, 2024. Submit the actual application by Monday March 15, midnight, PST. In your cover email indicate if any materials will be sent later, such as official transcripts. Unofficial transcripts can be sent with application.
The International Foodservice Editorial Council (IFEC) awards scholarships annually to students with experience and/or education in the combination of food/ foodservice and the communication arts.
Awards are intended to assist students planning to pursue careers as writers, editors, public relations practitioners, marketing communicators and similar within the food/ foodservice industries. This is a very specific niche. Students with questions about qualifications are encouraged to contact IFEC directly.
Students in good standing in a degree-granting program of a post-secondary institution whose studies and work experience combine the fields of food/ foodservice and the communication arts are considered eligible.
Awards range in amounts of from $1,500 – $6,000 and are dispersed in July of the award year.
The deadline for submitting an application is midnight PST on March 15th.
This award is for a U.S. student from West Virginia who is pursuing education or training in the fields of library science, nursing, or para-professional training in the legal field. The applicant must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and an ACT score of 20 or higher to be eligible.
This forgivable loan program is available to Maine graduating high school seniors, undergraduate students, and graduate students who are pursuing initial certification as a teacher, including speech pathology or child care provider qualifications. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
