Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a female.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
  4. Must enroll as a full-time student.
  5. Must be an incoming or current college freshman.
  6. Must major in engineering or engineering technology.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. and international female high school seniors who plan to major in engineering or engineering technology and enroll full time. Students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Application requirements for the B. J. Harrod Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Recommendation letters (2)
  • College acceptance letter
  • Resume
Additional Information: Applicants must not be receiving full funding for education (tuition, fees, and books or equivalent) from their school or another organization (e.g., members of the Armed Services attending U.S. military academies, students receiving full reimbursement from an employer). Applicants must attend or plan to attend a college or university with an ABET-accredited program. Information on accredited schools is available online at main.abet.org/aps/Accreditedprogramsearch.aspx.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.
