Number of Awards & Eligibility: Ten awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  2. Must be a college freshman at the time of application.
  3. Must be majoring in a STEM field.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.
  6. Must attend a Horatio Alger Collegiate Partner or Honeywell Partner school. Lists of these partner schools can be found here: https://scholars.horatioalger.org/scholarships/about-our-scholarship-programs/targeted-scholarships/

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for current college freshman who are majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Application requirements for the Horatio Alger and Honeywell STEM Scholarship are:

  • Family tax form
Additional Information: The Horatio Alger and Honeywell Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students in majoring in a STEM field who have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity and who aspire to pursue higher education. The applicant must have a strong commitment to pursue a bachelor's degree at an accredited institution. The student may begin his/her studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution. Scholarship recipients will be announced at the end of May.

Award Amount: $2,500 per year, renewable for four years so long as the student maintains a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.
