Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately three awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a resident of the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
  2. Must be majoring in communications.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.
  4. Must have completed at least 45 credit hours of undergraduate courses at the time of application.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

Additional Information: The press club of Dallas provides this annual scholarship to increase the opportunities for journalism students who graduated from high schools in the Dallas Ft. Worth area. To be eligible, students must have completed at least 45 credits of undergraduate coursework at the time of application, and must be majoring in a field related to journalism, such as: communications, media, advertising, or public relations. The Communities Foundation of Texas has been a partner with local individuals, families and businesses for raising the quality of life in the Texas community since 1953. Providing scholarships to deserving students is an important part of this mission, in the hopes that financial assistance will help these students to reach their full potential in high schools, colleges and continuing education across the country.

Award Amount: Up to $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.
