Women's Transportation Seminar - Portland Chapter

Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be female.
  2. Must be an undergraduate or graduate student at the time of application.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  5. Must be majoring in transportation or a related field.
  6. This award is for U.S. students.
  7. Must have graduated from a high school in Oregon, or currently be enrolled in a college in Oregon.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for women in Oregon and southwest Washington who are majoring in transportation or a related field. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and must demonstrate qualities of leadership.

Additional Information: The Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) fosters the development of women and girls in the transportation field by encouraging bright new professionals and students to undertake careers in the area of transportation. The Gail Achterman Leadership Scholarship is awarded to women pursuing graduate or undergraduate studies in transportation or a related field that demonstrate leadership skills, ability, and interest. Presentation of awards will occur during the December Winter Gala - recipients are strongly encouraged to attend.

Award Amount: $6,800 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $6,800.
