In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.
  3. Must attend the University of Kansas.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Preference is given to women.
  6. Prioity is also given to students who are the first in their families to attend college.

Description: The Elizabeth Miller Watkins Memorial Scholarship Fund is provided annually to undergraduate students at the University of Kansas who have unmet financial need and a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Preference will be given to women who are the first of their families to attend college.

Additional Information: The Elizabeth Miller Watkins Memorial Scholarship Fund is available for students at the University of Kansas who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Award selection will consider the applicants' academic achievements, financial need, as well as essays submitted as part of the scholarship application. Special preference will be given to women who are the first to attend college in their family. The administration and management of this scholarship is provided through the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. Originally founded in 1978, the GKCCF was designed to provide a single point of support and professional charity organization for various charitable organizations throughout the local area. Over the years, the scope of this mission has expanded to include grants, scholarships, and other philanthropic initiatives within Kansas City, throughout the Midwest, and even nation-wide. Award Amount: up to $4,000 ($2,000 per semester)  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $8,000.
