Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. Last year two awards were offered.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a full-time student ( 12 credit hours or more).
  3. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  4. Must attend a college or university in West Virginia.
  5. Must be a resident of one of the following counties: Wayne, Cabell, Mercer, Mingo, McDowell, Raleigh, Fayette, Summers, Greenbrier, Boone, Nicholas, Kanawha, Putnam, or Wyoming.
  6. Must be pursuing education or training in the field of business or related fields.
  7. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  8. Must have an ACT score of 20 or higher.
  9. Must have demonstrated service to his/her school and community.
  10. Must be a high school senior or current undergraduate student at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. undergraduate students who are residents of: Wayne, Cabell, Mercer, Mingo, McDowell, Raleigh, Fayette, Summers, Greenbrier, Boone, Nicholas, Kanawha, Putnam, and Wyoming counties in West Virginia and demonstrate outstanding community service. Students must be pursuing education or training in the field of business or related fields, have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and an ACT score of 20 or higher, and attend a college or university in West Virginia.

Application requirements for the Charleston Vandalia Rotary Club are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Tax return
Additional Information: Students may only receive one scholarship per year from TGKVF. The applicant will be notified by TGKVF by May. The foundation will mail the full amount of the award in August. It is applied to the entire academic year. The check is payable jointly to the recipient and the college, but is mailed directly to the recipient. Any student who withdraws from school for any reason will be expected to notify the foundation of his/her status and refund any unused, refundable portion of the scholarship. Preference is given to students having prior business or entrepreneurial experience.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, renewable if the student reapplies. The student must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher to renew.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
