North Carolina State University at Raleigh Top Questions

Describe the students at North Carolina State University at Raleigh.

Clare

NC State is in the south, but you do see a lot of diversity on campus. You'll see students who grew up on a farm in class with students from New York City or Boston. A lot of my friends are actually out-of-state, so you meet people from all over the country. We do have a strong LGBTQ center and many ethnicity-related clubs and organizations to join. Greek life is fairly prevalent on campus, but it's not necessary to join to make friends. One thing you see a lot of on campus is State apparel, and it's nice to see so much school pride in people's everyday lives. Aside from that, most people dress casually for class; Nike shorts are popular, Chacos are abundant, just your everyday clothes really. People come to State from all different financial backgrounds, so you can really have a variety of people in your friend group.

Lydia

I had the most amazing classmates in college. Since we were often in the studio working on deadlines until the wee hours of the morning, we became as close as family. I've never been around another group of people as inspiring and encouraging as those classmates. Now, they live all over the country working in prestigious design positions, and I'm so proud to see the work they do and know that we all share the same alma mater.

Charnae

They are all very smart.

Connor

My classmates are very determined and focused on their education. To acheive the degree they want is very challenging because there is a tremendous amount on competiveness within their chosen degree. Being accepted out of so many applicants for their chosen course of study makes them take their educational studies to a higher degree. This is the beginning of a life time choice, and I feel they all have a common sense of pride as they strive hard to make their and others future better. In one word I could describe them all as "dedicated".

Alex

My classmates are clever, friendly, and happy to collaborate in study groups and in class.

A room of classmates is very diverse. There's younger, older, taller, shorter, and all kinds of people. Classmates will open your eyes and see the world differently from experiencing their culture.
